From the Founder

I spent 38 years inside the FAA — starting as an electronics technician and finishing as a Senior Executive Service officer. In that time I held six executive roles spanning field operations, Technical Operations, the Air Traffic Organization, and safety and training at the national level.  What I learned in those roles is that the hardest problems in NAS modernization are rarely technical.

They are organizational, operational, and cultural. Programs struggle not because the engineering is wrong, but because the decisions driving them are made without a full picture of how the NAS actually behaves — how the workforce absorbs change, how the labor dynamics shape what is possible, how the political landscape inside a large federal agency determines what gets done and what stalls. I have also seen what it takes to get a stalled decision moving again — and that’s the part of the work I enjoy most. 

I founded AVTS to bring that perspective to organizations that need it. Not as a study. Not as a deliverable that takes six months. As direct, honest advisory from someone who has been in those rooms and seen those dynamics up close.  If you are working on something where that perspective would help, I am straightforward to reach.
